An unlikely hero emerged for Oklahoma State on Saturday and led them to a much needed conference road victory.  Ivan McFarlin grabbed eight rebounds and put in 18 points to lead OSU to a 69-66 win at Hilton Coliseum in front of 13,226 disappointed Iowa State Cyclones.

The Pokes overcame a 30 point, nine rebound performance by Tyray Pearson and 16 points from Jake Sullivan to put away a Cyclone squad that is a great coach away from being Texas A&M.  Oklahoma State improved to 15-1 and 2-1 in conference play and the Cyclones dropped to 9-8 overall and 1-2 in conference, in danger of going from the penthouse to the outhouse in one season.

Maurice Baker chipped in with 13 points, Frederik Jonzen scored 11, and Victor Williams knocked in with 13 points and seven assists to try to break the Cowboys from a recent slump that put them in a quandary last Saturday.

"I don't think we played well at the end of the game to close it out the way we wanted to, but you've got to win the ugly ones, too," Victor Williams said of his 6th ranked Cowboys after OSU nearly blew a ten point lead, but held on for the win.

Oklahoma State needed the win to get momentum headed into a battle with the previously #1 ranked Kansas Jayhawks on Tuesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.  The Jayhawks will not likely be the nation's top ranked team anymore after a 10-point road loss to UCLA on Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks and Cowboys will meet 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the game will be televised on ESPN Plus regional television.
