Cowboys Continue Fall at Fresno

February 10, 2002

After what appeared to be a turning point in the Oklahoma State season, the Cowboys tripped up again on Sunday afternoon to Fresno State 58-52.  Fresno's Damon Jackson netted 24 points and Travis DeManby set a school record by grabbing 11 steals in the Bulldog upset.

OSU (18-6, 5-5) committed 25 turnovers and shot just 35 percent to give Fresno (15-10) the chance to break it's four game losing streak, a chance the Bulldogs took.  The Pokes held star Melvin Ely to 11 points, though he did grab 11 rebounds, but couldn't keep a hold on the three point arc as the Dogs went 10-23 from downtown.

Fresno jumped out to a 17-2 lead before the Cowboys cut it to a five point deficit at half-time and grabbed a lead for a short time in the second half.  Victor Williams and Ivan McFarlin both put in 12 points for OSU to lead the way for the Maurice Baker-less Pokes.

Next up for the Cowboys is Bedlam in Stillwater on Wednesday at 8 p.m.  The game will be televised by ESPN+.
