Pokes Troubles Continue

Stick the proverbial fork in them, they're done.  The Pokes are done and Bob Simmons termination is all but complete.  Oklahoma State's two victories are as impressive as the Baylor offense and Baylor may be the only team left that OSU has a chance of defeating.

What the hell happened in Stillwater?

That's what sophomore Terrence Robinson wanted to know when he ripped his teammates inside the halftime locker room in Boulder when the Pokes trailed 30-7 at half to Colorado.  The Cowboys had been butchered by a freshman quarterback, Craig Ochs, for 398 yards of offense and 30 points in one half that enraged the sophomore linebacker.

The first half performance gave up more points to the Buffs than they had scored in a game all year.  Using their third quarterback of the year and fourth tailback Colorado looked like a top 5 offense the week after only 15 points against Kansas that followed one of the worst offensive performances in school history against Texas.

Robinson made the best play of the day when he knocked Ochs out of the game in the second half, though backup Zac Colvin came in and threw a touchdown on his second attempt.

Simmons said afterward, "Overall, we did not play well at all."

Good call coach.

"The execution part, after we had two weeks to work on it, was disappointing,"  remarked Simmons.

I thought the one thing the Cowboys did well was the execution.  After all the season is completely dead now.

No bowl.  No coach.
