Forget Baylor...

Let's Focus on A&M

Last Saturday afternoon in Waco, Texas the Oklahoma Sooners, as expected, throttled the Baylor Bears and successfully defended their number one ranking. Josh Heupel only played the first half of the game, but maintained his position as Heisman Trophy frontrunner.

Now with the Baylor game thankfully behind the Sooners, Bob Stoops and company can actually start talking about the Aggies. After the Baylor victory, Stoops said the Texas A&M game is more important to the Sooners than the Texas, Kansas State and Nebraska games.

With a win in College Station next weekend, the Sooners will all but clinch the Big 12 South championship and start making reservations for a trip to Kansas City in December. But more importantly, they will probably maintain their number one BCS ranking through the end of the season.

The Aggies will not be an easy victory for the Sooners. Don't be misled by the close game last weekend in Stillwater, the Aggies were looking to next week and overlooked the Cowboys. Texas A&M players, coaches and fans want revenge for last years 51-6 debacle in Norman.

The largest crowd ever assembled for a college football game in Texas is expected for the game. ABC will televise the game to half the country. OU is an early nine point favorite.
