Sooners Get Big Win at Connecticut January 7, 2002 by Jason Waganer Executive Editor
Ebi Ere drove the lane and scored the go ahead basket with 13 seconds left to give the fifth ranked Sooners their 11th straight win of the season. OU beat the University of Connecticut 69-67 in the Hartford Civic Center.
Ere was 9 of 20 from the field for 24 points. Junior guard Hollis Price was clutch for the Sooners going 6 for 14 for 17 points. Price led the Sooners down the stretch to the big victory.
The Huskies were led by Caron Butler with 25 points. Big man Okafor had 11 points and eight blocks.
The Sooners next game is at home this Saturday against Bobby Knight's Texas Red Raiders. The Sooners are now 12-1 on the season.
