Columbus, Ohio native Andrew Lavender has verbally committed to play basketball at the University of Oklahoma. Lavender, a 5-7, 155 pound point guard, is easily the top recruit OU Coach Kelvin Sampson has landed since Ryan Humphrey. He chose OU over Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and North Carolina. Lavender is a scoring machine and will be a difference maker when he arrives on campus in the fall of 2003.

Joining Lavender at OU is his Ohio AAU teammate Brandon Foust (6-6, 185 lb, Forward). The two will come to OU as a package deal, joining current Sooner commitment Lawrence McKenzie of Minneapolis. With these great athletes on board, Sampson is solidifying the Sooner hoopsters place in college basketballs upper echelon.
